Hyde Park is the oldest public park in Australia and it sits in the eastern side of the central business district of Sydney.  Nearby the park you can find many historic buildings such as St. Mary's Cathedral, St. James Church, the Sydney Mint and Sydney Hospital.  The Park features well-kept gardens as well as the ANZAC War Memorial and a Memorial honoring the Aboriginals.  Since our apartment was directly across the street from Hyde Park, it was a wonderful spot to stroll through.  It also served as a "short-cut" to get to other nearby sites.  Click on the first image to begin.
