Phnom Penh is the capital and largest city in Cambodia and it sits at the confluence of the Mekong and the Tonle Sap rivers.  It boasts a beautiful riverside promenade and the city features many Buddhist temples, palaces, museums and other places of interest.  It is definitely a city of contrasts with the ancient buildings alongside French buildings and new highrises. Despite the new buildings, Phnom Penh is one of the most undeveloped capitals in Asia.

Our day began with a "cyclo" ride.  The cylco drivers are employed by a charity which helps them with basic necessities and medical services.  We toured time the city and made stops at the Royal Museum and the National Museum.   Later we visited the circle holding the Independence Memorial.
