Today we arrived in Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang is located in northern Laos at the heart of a mountainous region. The town is built on a peninsula formed by the confluence of The Mekong River and Nam Khan River.  It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Our excursion focused on two places - the National Museum (also known as the Royal Palace) and a lovely temple, Wat Xieng Thong.  This Wat is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Laos.  It was built around 1560 by King Setthathirat who rules Laso from 1548 to 1571.  Click on the first image to begin.
