chronicling our travels. After using that site for 17 years, technology changed; it can no longer be updated. Welcome to our NEW SITE which follows our journeys from the Fall of 2016 to present. Our thanks go to Andy Paluch/WebGuyz!
This colorful bird is a Guineafowl. It primarily eats seeds and insects (although these birds will often beg for scraps at picnic areas and abodes in the national parks). They are very noisy birds and have been domesticated for their tasty meat and also can serve to alert others of problems (i.e., predators approaching, snakes in the area, etc.) given their loud calls.
