Here's a closer look at the top of the building. As of
1960, the Monasterio was opened as a Museum. It contains a
large collection of art work. This was accumulated over time
as a number of nobelwomen took refuge in the convent (usually from
bad marriages) and gave large dowries in return for security.
These monies were used to buy works of art. There still is a
small group of nuns who live in the Monasterio.
