This is St. Andrew's Cathedral.  It's an Anglican cathedral that was consecrated in 1868.  The church is active with services held every day.

From this view you can see how the Queen Victorial Building fills the entire block.

The Queen Victoria Building was completed in 1898.  It replaced a former Municipal Market.  Throughout its history, it filled a variety of roles and, at one point, faced demolition in the 1950's.  It now is a thriving shopping area with over 150 shops, restaurants, coffee bars, etc.
