A closer look at Santa and the gifts.

We took this photograph on the day of our Thanksgiving celebration (23 November).  Obviously, there is no celebration of this US holiday here in Hong Kong but Christmas decorations can be found all along Nathan Road.

If you look carefully, you'll see all five balls.  Three are in the vertical "Ball Elevator" on the left.  When the other two balls finish their circuit and also go up the Ball Elevator, their combined weight is sufficient to begin the entire process again.  It takes 1.5 minutes for the ball to go through the circuit and return to the starting point.

We decided to hang around the Museum until the 3:00PM activation of the Energy Machine - this odd looking device.  It is 22 meters high and stands in the center space of four floors.  The fun begins when the first of five balls begins its journey.

To move an airplane through the air, thrust is generated by a propulsion system.  Most modern airlines use turbofan engines because of their high thrust and fuel efficient.  This turbofan was made by Rolls-Royce.
