							<title><![CDATA[Forum Melbourne (former State Theatre) (Historic Buildings)]]></title>

							<description><![CDATA[<a title="Forum Melbourne (former State Theatre) in Historic Buildings" href="https://ruggieroweb.com/ASIA-SOUTH-PACIFIC/Round-the-World-2019-Melbourne/Historic-Buildings/09.26-7-Forum-Theatre-former-State-Theatre-.JPG"><img src="https://ruggieroweb.com/cache/ASIA-SOUTH-PACIFIC/Round-the-World-2019-Melbourne/Historic-Buildings/09.26-7-Forum-Theatre-former-State-Theatre-_240_thumb.jpg" alt="Forum Melbourne (former State Theatre)" /></a><p>The Forum (originally known as the State Theatre) was built in 1929.&nbsp; It sits on the corner of Flinders Street and Russell Street.&nbsp; The architecture is Moorish with minarets and a clock tower.&nbsp; Originally built as a huge movie theatre, it now has been split into two venues - Forum 1 accommodates ~2000 people while Forum 2 accommodates ~550 people.&nbsp; Forum 1 is used for live events such as concerts or comedy shows.&nbsp; Forum 2 is used primarily for private functions.&nbsp; It's definitely a unique building!</p><br />Date: 02/27/2020]]></description>

							<description><![CDATA[<a title="St. Paul&#039;s Anglican Cathedral in Historic Buildings" href="https://ruggieroweb.com/ASIA-SOUTH-PACIFIC/Round-the-World-2019-Melbourne/Historic-Buildings/09.26-4-St-Pauls-Anglican-Cathedral.JPG"><img src="https://ruggieroweb.com/cache/ASIA-SOUTH-PACIFIC/Round-the-World-2019-Melbourne/Historic-Buildings/09.26-4-St-Pauls-Anglican-Cathedral_240_thumb.jpg" alt="St. Paul&#039;s Anglican Cathedral" /></a><p>There's quite a great history behind St. Pauls Anglican Cathedral.&nbsp; From 1836 to 1848, the site on which the Cathedral stands was a corn market serving the growing city of Melbourne.&nbsp; In 1848, it was deeded to the Anglican Church which built St. Paul's Parish Church which was used until 1885.&nbsp; It was then demolished to make way for the present Cathedral.&nbsp; The current Cathedral was consecrated on January 22, 1891.&nbsp; The three spires were added with construction of them beginning in 1926.&nbsp; Today it stands proudly as both an Anglican church and an historic site.</p><br />Date: 02/27/2020]]></description>

							<title><![CDATA[Flinders Station (Historic Buildings)]]></title>
