This is a carving in marble of a portion of the ceiling in the Sistene Chapel in the Vatican City.  It was carved by two local sculptures.  NOTE:  If you want to see more detail, click on the image (it will take a few seconds to compile).  To return to this page, click on the Blue/White arrow in the upper left corner of the screen.

This is a huge cross 16 x 10 meters (51.5 x 33 feet).  It shows how large the underground cathedral truly is and why it's so impressive.

This salt formation looks like a giant waterfall.

Here we're at another Station of the Cross from which we're able to look into the Salt Cathedral.

If you look carefully, you can distinguish some salt from carbon on the wall.
