This native of Central and South America is related to the Armadillo and the Sloth (they are all cousins).  A Giant Anteater can consume thousands of ants and termites each day.

Fast asleep in the background of this picture is a Bengal Tiger.  It does what all cats do during the day - as little as possible.

We got lucky that these Penguins decided to take a break from their swimming pool so we were able to take a quick snap.

This Indian Rhino looks like it's wearing body armor.  This appearance is a result of its thick hide coupled with many, many wrinkles.

This Giant Panda is enjoying a bamboo snack.  Unfortunately, photography was difficult since the Panda is behind plexiglass.

These huge creatures are African Rhino.  The Madrid Zoo has a successful breeding program.  The Zoo's breeding program produced the third White Rhino born in captivity.  It was conceived through artificial insemination.

This is a Bactrian or Asian Camel.  The two humps store fat which is used in times when food and/or water is scarce.  These animals were used on the Silk Road from the Middle East to China.

This is a Barbery Sheep  It is found in the mountains of North Africa.

This is an Asian Elephant with her young calf.  Note how much smaller the ears of the Asian Elephant are compared to the African Elephant.
