Here's a close-up of the mess that needs to be cleaned up before winter arrives.

Here's the picnic area which is also filled with needles from the pinion trees infected by the bark beetles.

Here is the front door prior to having it removed from its hinges and placed in the driveway to be sanded, re-stained and have new kickplates installed.

At long last, the picnic area is cleaned up and without needles.  This project was completed on October 23 which was perfect as a big snow storm came in on October 26.

This is the result of the removal of the infected trees in the area near the picnic table.  It's such a pity.  Thankfully, a replanting will occur on both sides of the drive in March 2021.  It will definitely help make these areas more pleasant once again.

We had an additional loss of trees on the right side of the driveway in September.  Again, it's so sad.

Here's the area that had to be cleared of infested trees.  This is to the left of the driveway when looking at the house.

This is such a sad sight; these pinion trees have been infected by bark beetles.  They are dying and there is nothing that can be done.  They have to be removed from the property before the beetles move to the next trees.
