On 30 September, we flew from the Northern Serengeti to the Southern Seregeti.  Our home for the next two nights was Sanctuary Kusini, the only permanent camp in the south of the Serengeti.  We arrived at the airstrip in the early afternoon.  Then, our guide, Allan, took us on a safari drive en route to camp.  Once at camp, we discovered we were the only guests; how nice to have a private camp!  Unfortunately, we also discovered that we had left a small backpack on our flight that contained the batteries for our camera; yikes!  Thanks to Moses, he reached the air carrier and arranged for us to pick up the backpack the following day at an airstrip in the middle section of the Serengeti.  So our second day was a full-day safari so that we could retrieve the backpack.  Click on the "30 September" album below to begin.
