Comuna 13 is a revitalized residential area that was once very poor. In this area, the poorest people lived farthest up the mountain because it was more difficult to reach on foot. However, some re-gentrification occurred thanks to government infrastructure improvements. In particular, the installation of five escalators has turned this area into a lively neighborhood with many small stores, restaurants, etc. Click on the first image below to begin.
