We always enjoy a relaxing stay in Madrid. The city is lovely and it's very easy to navigate using the metro system. It is home to numerous world-class museums that we often enjoy. The city also has amazing cafes and restaurants. Apart from wandering the streets and taking in the various neighborhoods, this year we decided to specifically visit Parque del Buen Retiro or "El Retiro". The park is a 300 acre site near the center of Madrid. It previously was used exclusively by the Spanish monarchy until it was opened to the public in the late 19th century.
