We keep river rocks along the sides of the house and garage.  This keeps the stucco clean and free of dirt.  However, those river rocks themselves need to be periodically cleaned up.  Here's a before picture where some of the rocks have dropped down into the soil and there are lots of needles and debris to be removed.
