We had an early flight and arrived at the airport at 8:45AM.  We waited there a bit as we knew that check-in for our apartment was at 3:00PM.  So we went outside at 10:00AM to catch the AirCoach Bus to the stop just outside the Premier Suites property.  When we reached the bus, the driver said he wouldn’t be able to take us there because of the Dublin Marathon.  Yikes!  The driver said that no taxis were allowed either so all we could do was walk from the closest drop off point near O’Connell Bridge.  Thankfully the weather was fine and the driver told us to disembark and head south toward Grafton Street.  Eventually we made it to the Grafton Street pedway, then St. Stephen’s Green and finally to our hotel.  The walk was long and tough with Ed pushing a heavy bag over cobbled streets and/or electric train rails for about two kilometers.  When we arrived at the property near 1:00PM, we learned our room wasn’t ready but there was a sitting area where we could enjoy coffee and relax which we did.  The Front Desk staff escalated our room cleaning so we were in the room by about 1:30PM.  Thanks so much!

Since our walk gave us a basic overview for touring, we asked for directions to the Tesco, a local supermarket.  There were still lots of people in the area due to the marathon so the store was very busy.  When we were done shopping, we walked back to our apartment.  Our timing was good because it rained while we were in Tesco but it had stopped so there was no issue on our return walk.  Ed made delicious broccoli pasta and we had an early dinner after a very full day.
