After breakfast, we decided to take a walking tour of the city center.  The weather initially was fine and we really enjoyed St. Stephen’s Park.  The park was created in 1664 but was a private park.  In 1880, it was returned to the public due a decree for parliament.  St. Stephen's is stunning – so green and lush with lots of trees and ornamental plants.  The park features 3.6km of walking paths.  We didn’t walk the entire park but instead cut across it to reach the Grafton Street pedway.  Unlike yesterday, we had a leisurely walk and did lots of window shopping.  On one side street we found St. Anne’s Church and another, St. Teresa’s Carmelite Church.  Both were beautiful.  Unfortunately, it began getting windy and very cold.  Our next visit was to Trinity College.  It’s a beautiful campus that was founded in 1592.  We took time to photograph the buildings as well as enter into a few of them.  As we were headed back to our neighborhood, we passed the National Library and National Museum both closed due to a bank holiday.  We made our way to Tesco for a bit more shopping.  We were both now freezing as we made our way back to our apartment.  We enjoyed the complimentary hot coffee in the lobby to warm us up.  Ed then made a great frittata for dinner.  Click on the first image below to begin.
