Today the weather was much better as it was sunny and there was no wind.  So, we once again headed towards St. Stephen’s Green.  Once there we went west and walked to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  The Cathedral has its own park so we shot photographs of the outside of the church from there.  We also enjoyed doing some people watching as there were lots of locals with their dogs and/or groceries using the park as a short-cut.  We went inside the Cathedral to view the interior.  It was smaller than we had imagined but still amazing.

Afterwards, we walked to the south and east to Teeling Distillery, the only active distillery in Dublin.  It was opened in 2015 and the Friday before our visit, the Distillery celebrated the opening of its first cask of three-year old whiskey.  We took a very informative tour of the facility and then opted for an upscale tasting.  We tried three different whiskeys – Single Grain, Small Batch and Single Malt.  They were all delicious, especially on a cold afternoon.  Our favorite was the Small Batch which our tour guide said was the most popular.  We learned that Total Wines is carrying the Teeling line so we’ll purchase some back home.

It was now 3:00PM in the afternoon and time for the long walk home.  The clouds had once again arrived and it was a bit windy.  Once back at the Premier Suites we stopped again for a coffee to warm up.  Then, Ed made a salad and we enjoyed some fresh bread along with jerky that we had carried since leaving Albuquerque.  Click on an image below to begin.
