Before heading to mainland Tanzania to go on safari, we decided first to explore the island of Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania. It turned out to be a great decision as this island has a lot to offer in terms of history and wildlife. We spent three nights on the island and stayed at The Hilton Double Tree Hotel, set in the heart of the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town. With its winding, narrow streets, we often got lost in the maze of Stone Town. Thankfully, we were always able to find our way back to the hotel often by asking the friendly locals. Visiting the island was a great experience and we highly recommend it to others. Click on one of the subalbums below to see what we discovered.
